China is sending about nine million US dollars worth of supplies there in two shipments. The first of which has departed from North China’s Tianjin.
"This batch of supplies mainly includes protective suits and glasses, nebulizers and thermometers," Foreign Assistance Dept, Min. Of Commerce director Wang Shengwen said. "They will be delivered to six countries including Mali, Ghana, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire and the Democratic Republic of the Congo."
These supplies are expected to arrive in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic Congo, on Wednesday, and reach their final destination in Guinea-Bissau on Friday. This is the third time that China has sent supplies to West Africa during this Ebola crisis. And it has pledged another batch of aid including hospital beds, ambulances, motorcycles to control and prevent disease.
