Puppet festival kicks off in Thailand

More than 160 troupes of puppeteers from around the world took part in the opening ceremony of the Harmony World Puppet Carnival in Thailand on Saturday.
There were more than 160 troupes of puppeteers from 80 countries, including 50 groups from Thailand. They performed at the historic Ra'ttana'kosin Island in Bangkok, transforming the evening into a magical puppetry art theater.
The Harmony World Puppet Carnival is organized by the Prague-based World Puppet Carnival and Thailand's Culture Ministry and runs until November 10.
